FAQWhat types of clients does Y&A serve? Y&A serves clients in several different industries. Most of our clients are mid-sized or large, global companies. Our clients are based in both the U.S. and international markets. Will I be asked to specialize in a particular industry? Although you will most likely gain experience in certain industries, we are committed to giving our people exposure to all industries. We feel this is important to their professional and personal growth. How would you describe Y&A's corporate culture? Our culture is shaped by individuals with a drive to succeed, a dedication to quality, a passion for intellectual challenges, interpersonal skills, analytical skills and creativity. We often work in small project teams that value individual initiative while encouraging collaborative teamwork. Much of our work is performed at our offices, which reduces the amount of travel required and provides more in-depth analysis utilizing in-office support. I am in the process of obtaining my MBA. Can I still be considered for a Consultant position? Most of our Consultants will have already received their MBA. However, individuals who have completed more than 50% of their MBA and have proven successful work experiences will also be considered for Consultant positions. I have an advanced degree but not an MBA. Can I still be considered for a Consultant position? Although most Consultants will have an MBA, individuals with other advanced degrees will be considered for Consultant positions. Individuals with advanced degrees in mathematics, economics and engineering will receive the greatest consideration. However, the level at which individuals join Y&A will also be dependent on their previous work experience. Is there support to get an MBA or other graduate degree? Educational assistance is provided to those individuals who have performed with excellence and have exhibited a strong potential for long-term success. What type of training does Y&A provide? Y&A strongly believes in the development of its members. Many of the skills required to perform in your role will be developed while working through client and internal projects. Individuals will work closely with their managers during the early part of their career at Y&A and will gradually work more independently as they progress. Participation in relevant courses and seminars at accredited universities is also highly supported. How often will I travel? Travel is required for our Associate Consultants and Consultants. The level of travel will vary based upon the location of the clients. However, since much of our project work is performed in our offices, our Associate Consultants and Consultants travel less than their peers in other consulting firms. Improved technologies in telephone and Web conferencing have also reduced travel time, while not sacrificing the quality of our client interactions. Programmer Analysts have minimal travel.
